Southern Europe roll-out shows Netflix's direct control of content now at critical mass
Netflix has a stated goal of completing a global expansion by 2016. With the company already embedded across all of North and South America, its focus is now on emerging market growth, specifically within the Middle-East and Asia Pacific. However, there is still potential for further opportunity within Europe, and in mid-October Netflix nearly completed its Western European rollout, with three launches in Italy, Portugal and Spain.
