Orange's Jazztel bid accepted, will nearly double fixed market share
Spanish telecoms group Jazztel is to delist following its acceptance of a $3.8bn offer from rival Orange. Orange's move will boost its market share in the Spanish fixed communications sector by approaching 100%, and gives the company a stronger foothold in the fibre-to-the-home market - helping the French telco to better compete with incumbent Telefonica and communications group Vodafone, which acquired cable company ONO in 2014 for $8bn.
